From stonework to woodwork to fabrics, this is the story of our Grade II listed Georgian cottage and its ongoing refurbishment.
We’ve spent a lot of time searching for the correct materials, following best practices and enlisting the right experts to bring the cottage back to its former glory. Discover our tricks and tips.
We’ve had to redo work that has been carried out by previous owners. Not necessarily due to poor quality work, but because the wrong materials have been used, which harm the building in the long run.
And we’re documenting everything that we do, to build a permanent archive of the restoration of our cottage. Hopefully it will help others who are restoring small Georgian buildings.
As we discover more about the restoration process we realise there’s so much more to learn. The only way we can do it is to talk to people and listen to their experiences, so we’d love to hear from you.
